About the Event:
Attendees will be able to define sensory processing, define each sensory system, understand the characteristics of Sensory Processing Disorder as well as attain sensory strategies to enhance a child’s ability to successfully engage in activities of daily living.
Presenters:Meghan Hinderer, MOT, OTR/L and Sarah Welch MS, OTR/L
Meghan Hinderer graduated from Temple University in 2004 with Master of Occupational Therapy. She has worked in a variety of settings including early intervention, outpatient rehabilitation, private pediatric clinics and school based settings. She joined Kennedy Krieger Institute’s occupational therapy department in 2009; first, working at Kennedy Krieger High School and then transitioning to CARD in 2011. While at CARD, Meghan provides Occupational Therapy services in both the clinic and Achievements Therapeutic Day Program.
Sarah Welch graduated from Boston University in 2011 with Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She began practicing occupational therapy at a specialized sensory integration clinic in the Boston area before working at Kennedy Krieger Institute. She joined the occupational therapy team at CARD in the summer of 2013. Currently, Sarah provides Occupational Therapy services in CARD’s clinical setting and is collaborating with team members to further develop social skills programs.
