Dr. Barker is a research scientist who works to develop magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and spectroscopy (MRS) techniques for evaluating diseases of the human central nervous system. He also conducts research studies to determine the utility of these new techniques, particularly in the understanding and diagnosis of neurological, psychiatric and oncological diseases. Dr. Amy Bastian is the chief science officer at Kennedy Krieger Institute, a role in which she identifies and promotes new directions for breakthrough research into the developing brain, spinal cord, and musculoskeletal system.
