Kennedy Krieger recognizes that children with developmental and brain disorders have varying needs in intensity of service, as does the environment in which these needs can be provided. In response, Kennedy Krieger’s rehabilitation, feeding and neurobehavioral programs have developed continuums of care that see patients through all phases of treatment. The continuums range from intensive 24-hour-a-day medical inpatient programs, to 5-day-a-week medical/educational programs, to home-based services, to the least restrictive outpatient services. The continuums allow patients to be in the most appropriate environments for their individual changing needs during the rehabilitation process.
