DDA Low-Intensity Support Services (LISS) Accepting Applications July 1-31, 2014

The Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), part of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH), will begin accepting requests for its Low Intensity Support Services (LISS) program beginning July 1.

LISS grants assist adults with developmental disabilities and families with a child with developmental disabilities in purchasing services and/or items to address needs. Applications are being accepted from July 1 through July 31, 2014.

Accessibility and Usability of Ballot-Marking Machine with Assistive Technologies

The University of Baltimore is studying the accessibility and usability of a ballot-marking machine that has assistive technologies for the Maryland State Board of Elections. During the study, participants will be asked to mark and submit a ballot using a machine that has assistive technologies.

Review Sessions of the Community Pathways Waiver

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has approved the Developmental Disabilities Administration's application to renew the Community Pathways (CP) waiver. As a result, there will be several changes to the new waiver.

To inform those who will be affected by these upcoming changes and new federal rules relating to waiver programs, the DDA has organized review sessions to hear from individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, guardians and advocates.
