We’ve helped children unlock their potential for over 80 years. Here’s how your organization can help.

Kennedy Krieger Institute is dedicated to transforming the lives of children with disorders of the brain through groundbreaking research, innovative treatments and life-changing education. Every year we care for over 27,000 patients and provide special education to more than 500 students, both in our 13 locations around the Baltimore/Washington metro area and directly in the surrounding communities.

We are on the verge of learning so much more about how the child’s brain develops, how things can go wrong, and what the repair mechanisms might be.

Dr. Gary W. Goldstein, Retired President and CEO
Kennedy Krieger Institute

While we strive to do everything possible to unlock the potential in the children we work with today, our researchers are also working tirelessly to develop new ways of treating, preventing, and ultimately curing brain-related disorders for the children of tomorrow. In addition to researching over 45 disorders and injuries, we are also helping to build capacity in the medical and scientific communities by providing training to over 700 scientists and healthcare professionals each year.

While we benefit from the generous support of thousands of individuals every year, donations from corporations and foundations provide the base upon which we can continue to help children unlock their potential and participate as fully as possible in family, school, and community life…today and for years to come.

Corporations

We offer several opportunities for corporations interested in helping us continue to help children with brain disorders and injuries:

  • Sponsorships: Our special events attract thousands of people and major media coverage every year. Our Festival of Trees and ROAR for Kids events have become “must do’s” for many in the Baltimore area and are a great platform for civic-minded organizations like yours to communicate your commitment to the community.
  • Matching gifts: Many of our corporate friends have found that starting a program that matches part or all of their employees’ gifts to Kennedy Krieger is a great way to bring the organization together around a common purpose while reinforcing the importance of community philanthropy.
  • Cash gifts and grants: Cash gifts to Kennedy Krieger Institute and grants for specific programs help our 2,500 dedicated researchers, scientists, physicians, therapists, educators, and staff members continue our work of unlocking the potential within every child.
  • In-kind gifts: Many of our special events and community outreach programs wouldn’t be possible without the generous in-kind gifts we receive from service providers, vendors, and so many other generous businesses who share our commitment to children with brain disorders and injuries.
