Clinical Fellowship Opportunities:

Individuals who have completed master's or doctoral programs and are not yet certified may complete their training by applying for a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) position. Clinical Fellowship opportunities are available each year with the application window typically opening in January or February, with positions available in our programs across the Institute. Clinical Fellows receive high quality mentorship, interdisciplinary training and opportunities to learn alongside medical, allied health and educational trainees, while providing speech-language pathology assessment and treatment to children with a wide range of neurodevelopmental and acquired disorders.

CFY positions are designed to last one year with the expectation that the clinician will transition into a fully licensed position. Skilled support and supervision are present throughout the year in accordance with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Maryland Board of Speech-Language Pathology requirements for Clinical Fellows. While most openings are posted early in the calendar year, applicants are accepted at other times of the year if positions are available. According to needs within Kennedy Krieger, there may be CFY opportunities in the following areas:

  • Clinic-based, including Inpatient, Outpatient, Fairmount Rehabilitation Programs and the Center for Autism Services, Science and Innovation
  • Kennedy Krieger School Programs such as Fairmount lower and middle grades, High School, LEAP, Powder Mill Campus and Southern Maryland Campus
  • Community-based programs including Community Rehabilitation, Early Childhood Development and Education Center, and Child Family Support Center (CFSC).
