Dear Friends:

We are starting the year off with exciting news. I’m happy to announce a name change for the Center for Autism and Related Disorders—CARD (at Kennedy Krieger Institute).

Beginning February 1, we are changing our name to the Center for Autism Services, Science and Innovation—CASSI™ (at Kennedy Krieger Institute).

This new name better reflects the multi-faceted work being done at the center, conveys our neurodivergent-affirming approach. and highlights our primary priority - providing crucial services for our patients, students, and their families. Our mission includes using science and innovation to identify earlier and more effective ways to diagnose, educate and prepare autistic individuals to pursue all that’s possible in their lives through our services and international teaching.

CARD switching to CASSI. Both acronyms are shown in purple font against a white background.

This name change represents a major milestone for our Center. While this is a big change, I want to reassure you that our dedicated, compassionate, and expert staff, our values and services, and our leading-edge research remains stellar as before.

Please begin using our new name, CASSI™ for short, as you reference our Center. Throughout 2024 you will see the name change across documents, website and more!

Thank you for being a valued member of our community and we appreciate your support through the transitional phases of our name change.
