This month, we’re continuing our toy recommendation series with a list of toys appropriate for very young children.
Before giving your child a new toy, test it out yourself. See where your hands naturally go when you grasp and play with it.
When you give the toy to your child, encourage them to place their hands in similar positions. Some placements may initially be difficult, but will become gradually easier for your child to master over time.
The toys pictured require banging together or shaking. These include: rhythm sticks, hand drums, maracas and shaky eggs. You can also use pots and pans with lids and a soon.
As always, be sure to follow the recommended age requirements when selecting toys to purchase for your child.
