The Spanish Language Neurology Clinic at Kennedy Krieger Institute offers culturally sensitive neurological care to Spanish-speaking patients and their families. That care includes the advanced, interdisciplinary, diagnostic and therapeutic management of a full spectrum of neurological conditions in infants, children, adolescents and young adults.
The clinic provides that care in patients’ and families’ native language to facilitate better treatment and understanding of each patient’s diagnosis.

Our Approach
Our clinicians work closely with their patients to focus on early detection and consistent management of neurological disease. Patients benefit from our clinicians’ specialized training in using a variety of neurological diagnostic tools, including EMG (electromyography) and EEG (electroencephalography). These technologies can provide a better understanding of the underlying cause of a series of symptoms and can allow for a more complete treatment plan.
New patients should expect a thorough evaluation, including a complete history and neurological exam, which typically takes at least an hour. The neurological
exam will test muscle strength, reflexes and coordination. We also examine previous medical records and brain images sent to us or brought to the appointment.
