About
Dr. Christopher Joseph is the director of physical therapy at Kennedy Krieger Institute, with oversight of the inpatient, outpatient and Columbia therapy clinics. He is the primary physical therapist in the pediatric pain management, functional neurological symptom disorder and pediatric connective tissue clinic, with a focus in osteogenesis imperfecta.
Education
Dr. Joseph received his masters of science in physical therapy from Thomas Jefferson university and his Doctorate in Physical therapy from Arcadia university, He is adjunct faculty at the University of Maryland school of medicine Physical Therapy and rehabilitation science program (PTRS). He has 29 years of clinical pediatric experience in early intervention, outpatient, inpatient and the school based delivery systems. His current area of care concentrates on children and adults with rare disorders with a specialty in Connective disorders with a focus in osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) and the use of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) in the treatment of children with cerebral palsy (CP). He co-authored a book chapter on the rehabilitative care for adults with OI. He is also co-leading a work group for the cerebral palsy research network (CPRN) and part of a group of clinicians working on improving the use of NMES for improving the function of patients with CP.
