About
Jeremy Corsmo, MPH, CIP, is the associate vice president, Research Administration and Compliance at Kennedy Krieger Institute. Corsmo joined Kennedy Krieger from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where he was the senior director of Research Compliance and Regulatory Affairs and was an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
Education
Corsmo completed is undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech in biology. He later completed his master’s degree in public health from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst.
Research Summary
Corsmo’s research and scholarly activities focus in two areas. The first area is research into innovative approaches to administering research oversight/administrative programs, with a primary focus in the ethical oversight of research involving human subjects and Institutional Review Board function/operations. The second area of research interest is centered on the research informed consent process. Specifically, he is interested in developing better tools to evaluate whether potential research subjects actually "understand" the information necessary to make a truly informed consent decision and whether the level of "understanding" can be quantitatively measured.
