About
Dr. Karina M. Yelin is a developmental behavioral pediatrician at the Center for Autism Services, Science and Innovation (CASSITM) at Kennedy Krieger Institute.
Dr. Yelin is a bilingual (English Spanish) developmental behavioral pediatrician who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of Autism. She is committed to providing all the possible resources to help children and adolescents advance in their development and to promote comprehensive well-being for their families.
Education
Dr. Yelin earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine, Buenos Aires, Argentina. She completed a 4-year residency in pediatrics at a public inner-city hospital in Buenos Aires. She has always been interested in child development and neurology. After spending an observership in neonatal neurology at Miami’s Children Hospital during her residency in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she made the decision to pursue further training in the USA. She worked as a research assistant at the Neuropathology Department at St Christopher’s Hospital, Philadelphia, PA; she completed a second residency in Pediatrics at Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey and a fellowship in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina.
She practiced pediatrics and developmental behavioral pediatrics for 3 years in rural Maryland. She joined CASSI in 2013.
