About
Dr. Kathleen Parker is a licensed psychologist with specialty training in pediatric neuropsychology. She serves as the site lead of the Department of Neuropsychology at Kennedy Krieger Institute’s satellite office in Columbia, MD. Dr. Parker has been on staff in the Neuropsychology Department at Kennedy Krieger since 2018. She sees patients for neuropsychological assessment in the Congenital/Genetic Conditions Clinic and Brain Injury Clinic, as well as general neuropsychology referrals within the Neuropsychology Department’s outpatient program. Dr. Parker also sees patients in the multi-disciplinary Concussion Clinic.
Education
Dr. Kathleen Parker received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology from UCLA in Los Angeles, CA. She received a master’s degree in Psychology with Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. Dr. Parker then went on to complete Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Clinical Psychology (Child Track) at Loma Linda University where her research focused on the relationship between NICU infant outcomes and parental mental health. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in pediatric psychology with an emphasis in neuropsychology at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and her post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She has worked with children and adolescents with a variety of medical conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Throughout her experiences, Dr. Parker has developed a passion for working with children with complex medical conditions as well as learning and developmental disorders.
