About
Dr. Malinda Wu is a pediatric endocrinologist assistant professor in the Bone Disorders Program at Kennedy Krieger Institute. Dr. Wu sees children and young adults who have had or are at risk for low-trauma fractures. Her clinical and research expertise is in understanding skeletal fragility of children and young adults. She completed her clinical training in pediatric endocrinology and her Master of Science in Clinical Research at Emory University. She has received funding to study primary osteoporosis, including osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), and secondary osteoporosis, especially cystic fibrosis. Recognizing the complex needs of people with fragile bones, Dr. Wu is the physician lead within Kennedy Krieger's multi-disciplinary team of physical therapists, genetic counselors, psychologists and nurse practitioners caring for children with OI.
Education
Dr. Wu received her BS, Science, from Pennsylvania State University and her Doctorate of Medicine from the Thomas Jefferson University. She trained in pediatrics at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital. She completed her clinical training in pediatric endocrinology and her Master of Science in Clinical Research at Emory University.
Research Summary
Dr. Wu is the site principal investigator for five studies conducted at Kennedy Krieger for people with osteogenesis imperfecta.
