About
Dr. Shelley McDermott is a licensed clinical psychologist in the Department of Neuropsychology at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. She also holds an appointment as an assistant professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. McDermott has been on staff in the Neuropsychology Department at Kennedy Krieger since 2014. She sees preschool and school-age patients for psychological assessment in the Development and Early Learning Clinic and in the Executive Function Clinic within the Neuropsychology Department’s outpatient program.
Education
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Texas State University, Dr. McDermott completed her Master of Arts degree in psychology and applied behavior analysis at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She then completed her Ph.D. in school psychology at the University of Oregon. Dr. McDermott completed her pre-doctoral fellowship in behavioral psychology and her post-doctoral fellowship in clinical child psychology and neurodevelopmental disabilities at the Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
