In 2023, 6,115 donors gave a total of $12,372,363 through 7,980 gifts. Individuals gave $6,128,642 (50% of the total) to the Institute ($796,122 in unrestricted funds and $5,332,521 in restricted funds), foundations and community groups gave $3,125,895 (25% of the total) to the Institute ($166,581 in unrestricted funds and $2,959,313 in restricted funds), special events generated $598,468 (5% of the total) for the Institute ($216,351 in unrestricted funds and $382,117 in restricted funds), corporations gave $607,947 (5% of the total) to the Institute ($530,754 in unrestricted funds and $77,194 in restricted funds), planned gifts totaled $636,410 (5% of the total) for the Institute ($631,410 in unrestricted funds and $5,000 in restricted funds), and special purpose donations totaled $1,275,000 (10% of the total) for the Institute ($1,275,000 in restricted funds, with no unrestricted funds). In-Kind Donations in 2023

Donations help shape the lives of our patients and students. 1,128 packs of diapers (28,000 diapers) and 144 packs of wipes (approximate value of $26,635) donated and distributed to patients’ families. 1,670 books donated to distribute through the Read, Imagine, Grow Program

 


Volunteers and Volunteered Hours in 2023

Here’s how your gifts helped Kennedy Krieger in 2023. (All numbers are from fiscal year 2023, unless stated otherwise.)” According to the graphic, Kennedy Krieger served 27,000+ patients (9% ages 0–3, 61% ages 4–14, 20% ages 15–20 and 10% ages 21+) in fiscal year 2023, from 24 Maryland counties and Baltimore City, 50 states and 35 countries. The Institute offered 110,994 telehealth appointments during that time. During the 2022–2023 school year, the Institute’s schools (which comprise a lower/middle school, a high school, a school named “LEAP,” a D.C.-area school and a Southern Maryland school) served 475 students from more than 15 school districts in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Also in fiscal year 2023, the Institute conducted over 500 active research studies and offered 29 adaptive sports programs for children and adults.
