At the 2019 Baltimore Running Festival, held on October 19, Team Kennedy Krieger raised $120,000 to improve quality of life for the Institute’s patients and students.

The funds support adaptive sports, new therapy equipment, training scholarships and financial assistance to participate in sporting events around the country.

Nearly 1,000 people gathered at Oregon Ridge Park on April 27, 2019, to ROAR for Kids, raising $108,000 for Kennedy Krieger’s patients and students, and their families.

Our ROAR event included a 5K run, low-mileage walk and family festival. Fundraising teams represented 14 Kennedy Krieger programs, departments and schools.

Patients, students and staff members of Kennedy Krieger; donors to the Institute; and local celebrities walked the runway at the Green Spring Station Courtyard on September 13, 2019, modeling the season’s trendiest looks. The fashion and social event raised more than $14,600 for Kennedy Krieger.

Kennedy Krieger’s 30th annual Festival of Trees, held November 29 through December 1, 2019, at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, raised more than $1 million for the Institute, and welcomed the festival’s one-millionth visitor.

As always, it marked the start of the holiday season for many in the Baltimore region and beyond.

Hats & Horses Benefiting Kids at Kennedy Krieger
 

The Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) for Kennedy Krieger Institute held its fourth annual Hats & Horses on May 3,  2019, at The Grand Lodge of Maryland.

The Derby-style event, which featured live and silent auctions and catering by Linwoods, raised more than $430,000 to support the renovation of the Institute’s Greenspring Campus pool.

Kennedy Krieger Society Reception in Baltimore, Honoring Lainy LeBow-Sachs
 

The Kennedy Krieger Society’s 2019 reception in Baltimore took place  on May 23 in the Institute's new Arnold J. Capute, MD, MPH, Conference Center at 1741 Ashland Avenue.

The event honored the Institute’s most dedicated donors and supporters from the Baltimore area, and celebrated Lainy LeBow-Sachs’ 23 years of dedicated service to the Institute.

Young violinists Maggie, 10, and Matthew, 9, Schneider raised nearly $10,000 in unrestricted funds for Kennedy Krieger at their benefit concert on June 22, 2019, at the Baltimore Museum of Art. A quartet of world-class virtuosos joined them on the stage, and an elegant reception followed the concert.

The Kennedy Krieger Society’s first reception in Washington, D.C., honored the Institute’s most dedicated supporters from the capital city region, and was held on September 26, 2019, at the Library of Congress.

WIN's Wine Walkabout
 

The seventh annual WIN Wine Walkabout took place on November 21, 2019, at Caves Valley Golf Club.
 

The event featured creative food and wine pairings, live music, and inspirational speakers—a patient of Kennedy Krieger and her spouse— and raised more than $40,000 to purchase a new functional electrical stimulation bicycle for arms and legs, to be used at the Institute’s International Center for Spinal Cord Injury.
