Mirian Ofonedu, PhD, LCSW-C, director of training, contributed as a technical expert to an evidence-based guide, “Suicide Prevention Strategies for Underserved Youth,” published by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Her engagement framework, Family-as-Host (FAH) model, is featured as one of three key approaches for repairing and strengthening family relationships for underserved youth. Additionally, Dr. Ofonedu's co-edited book, “Social Work Field Instruction in Modern Practice: A Handbook,” was published in February 2025. This comprehensive guide offers contemporary strategies and insights for effective social work field instruction, addressing the evolving challenges and practices in the profession.
