Seven Easy Steps to Becoming a Foster Care, Adoption or Respite Parent for the Therapeutic Foster Care Program

Step One: Initial contact or call to MarLear Alston, Therapeutic Foster Care Recruiter at 443-923-3802.

Step Two: Attend an Information Meeting and meet our program recruiter and one or more of our current foster parents.

Step Three: Complete and submit our initial inquiry form.

Step Four: Participate in a home visit and interview

Step Five: Attend and successfully complete pre-service training

Step Six: Participate in home study

Step Seven: Receive certification as a Therapeutic Foster Care, Foster, Respite, and/or Adoptive Parent 

Once you complete these steps, you’ll be ready to provide a safe, nurturing home for a child who desperately needs one.
