Current and Future MCDD Trainees

This past summer, MCDD welcomed several talented trainees to work with our programs.

MCDD Members Conduct Professional Training Sessions in Rural Region

MCDD staff members Mallory Finn and Mirian Ofonedu, PhD, LCSW-C, conducted separate training sessions in western Maryland during the month of May.

MCDD Staff Members Attend AUCD Leadership Academy

Natasha Ludwig, PhD, and Mallory Finn, Esq., attended the 2019 Association of University Centers on Disabilities Leadership Academy, a weeklong program designed to enhance the skills of current and emerging leaders from the disability network to build coalitions to improve systems of supports and services.

Former Interactive Autism Network Merges with MCDD

After 13 years of service to the community, the Interactive Autism Network (IAN) has closed. MCDD is excited to announce that five IAN staff members will continue their work with the Simons Foundation’s SPARK initiative as MCDD staff members.

IDDRC Corner

The national Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (IDDRC) network recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of the implementation of the Mental Retardation Facilities Construction Act, which in 1967 provided financial support for the development of 12 IDDRCs. Read about some of the history of the IDDRCs, both nationally and at Kennedy Krieger Institute.

Summer is often a slower time of the year, but here at the Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities (MCDD), we are as busy as ever, providing training sessions through the Summer Learning Series, working with trainees and preparing for an activity-filled fall.
