Summer is often a slower time of the year, but here at the Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities (MCDD), we are as busy as ever, providing training sessions through the Summer Learning Series, working with trainees and preparing for an activity-filled fall.

We are excited to welcome five members of Kennedy Krieger Institute’s former Interactive Autism Network (IAN) Project to our center’s staff. There will be many new faces at MCDD this semester! In addition to several trainees and scholars from the Maternal Child Health Careers/Research Initiatives for Student Enhancement - Undergraduate Program (MCHC/RISE-UP), we will be joined by a graduate student from the Wendy Klag Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities. We’ve included more about their amazing work in this issue of our newsletter.

Be sure to read about the upcoming 30th anniversary conference and gala celebration for People On the Go Maryland, a statewide self-advocacy organization. We look forward to a season of great partnerships and motivating events as we continue to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities across Maryland.
