Hours: 560 hours total—40 hours a week for 14 weeks.

Recreational Therapy at Kennedy Krieger Institute
- Serves children to adults on the inpatient rehabilitation unit with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, chronic pain, feeding disorders, individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries and other complex medical conditions.
- Provides leisure interventions to promote social, physical, cognitive and emotional functioning.
- Works closely with a multidisciplinary team (CL, PT, OT, SLP, NP, BP) to increase independence for each patient.

Internship Schedule Breakdown
- Weeks 1-2: Department and Inpatient orientation
- Weeks 3-4: Recreational therapy/Inpatient Rehab observations
- Weeks 5-9: Co-facilitation of Recreational Therapy responsibilities
- Weeks 9-14: Independent facilitation of recreational therapy responsibilities
