check presentationThe Teen Giving Initiative—a program of the The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore—made a $2,090 grant supporting the Child Life and Therapeutic Recreation Department at Kennedy Krieger Institute.   This contribution will allow the Institute to enhance the Child Life playroom/therapy center by clearly defining a space for toddlers and preschoolers and securing a Kids Club Tree—a large, decorative tree with interactive toys—and other durable and decorative play items for the space.  These elements will encourage creative play and relaxation and will foster an environment that will promote learning, growth and development, socialization, and imaginative play.  With these additions to the playroom/therapy center, young patients at Kennedy Krieger will be able to enjoy a much-needed rest from the hectic pace of the hospital environment.
