Learn About Our Aquatics Program
Designed to build upon the progress that you make in land-based therapy, our aquatic therapy program features two state-of-the-art pools with a range of warm water temperatures. The pools are capable of offering different aquatic environments depending on your individual needs.
Features include:
- Built-in treadmills with a wide range of speeds for relearning walking and observing walking patterns
- Video systems for monitoring therapy activities and observing walking patterns
- Multiple jets used to create resistance
- Movable floors that allow us to customize the water height to you. If you are in a wheelchair, these movable floors also allow you to achieve barrier-free entry and exit from the pool
- Floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the facility with light and offer a great view of Baltimore
Aquatic therapy can help to improve your:

Water provides a safe environment to achieve therapeutic goals without worrying about falling or losing balance. You can begin aquatics as a part of inpatient or outpatient therapy. Upon discharge, you are provided with a home program that you can follow in a community environment or at Kennedy Krieger with the Independent Aquatics Program, as a part of our Life Through Motion Wellness Program.
